Our client, a leading organization in the logistics and supply chain industry, is seeking a dedicated Shipping Clerk to join their team. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be an essential part of the operations team supporting procurement and warehouse functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Shipping Clerk

Location: Sunrise, FL

Pay Range: $22.00

Shift: 1st Shift 

What's the Job?

  • Track all outstanding Purchase Orders from their order date until the receiving report is posted.
  • Update the Purchase Order Database with the latest shipment status to ensure accurate records.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in preparing documentation for shipments and handle light physical movement of freight when necessary.
  • Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and receivers to maintain smooth material flow and achieve optimal transit times.
  • React promptly and courteously to inquiries regarding item or shipment status, maintaining open communication with requisitioners.

What's Needed?

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook to manage documentation and communication effectively.
  • Polite, friendly, yet firm telephone manner to handle vendor and internal communications professionally.
  • Ability to handle light lifting and moving of shipments safely and efficiently.
  • Experience in a purchasing or procurement environment is a definite asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate tracking and documentation.
