Material Handling Specialist

Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing and supply chain industry, is seeking a Material Handling Specialist to join their team. As a Material Handling Specialist, you will be part of the Logistics Department supporting the warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, strong teamwork skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Material Handling Specialist

Location: Suffolk, VA

Pay Range: $18.00

Shift: Mon-Fri 7:30am to 4:30pm

Forklift Certification Required! 
 

What's the Job?

• Verify and prepare incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Receive parts into inventory using RF scan guns, shop floor systems, and warehouse management systems.
• Separate inbound loads by part number and customer, and process outbound shipments using FIFO methodology.
• Stage, audit, and ensure all outbound shipments are properly documented and signed off.
• Operate industrial handling equipment to load, unload, and move materials efficiently within the warehouse.

What's Needed?

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
• Experience with material handling and operating industrial equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
