Materials Handler III

Our client, a leader in distribution and logistics, is seeking a Materials Handler III to join their team. As a Materials Handler III, you will be part of the Distribution Center supporting operational excellence and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Materials Handler III

Location: Portsmouth, VA

Pay Range:

Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

What's the Job?

• Perform routine quality control audits to ensure procedural compliance
• Conduct daily verification of picking activities
• Report daily service issues during morning Tier meetings
• Analyze and report service issue trends to improve processes
• Provide real-time feedback and error correction to prevent escalation of issues

What's Needed?

• High School Degree or equivalent
• At least 2 years of warehouse operations experience
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook; experience with SAGE or Great Plains ERP preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
