Are you a proven leader with experience managing sensory research operations, lab staff, and consumer testing programs? We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Sensory Lab Leader to oversee the daily operations of our Consumer Research Sensory Lab and lead lab execution staff in delivering high-quality sensory testing and consumer insights.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within a consumer research organization, driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation while ensuring exceptional data quality and team performance.

What You'll Do

As the Sensory Lab Leader, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the sensory laboratory, leading research support staff, and ensuring the successful execution of sensory and consumer research studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily sensory lab operations and test execution activities
• Manage, coach, and develop lab execution and research support staff
• Ensure sensory studies are conducted accurately, efficiently, and according to established protocols
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on data quality, productivity, and operational effectiveness
• Monitor and improve processes to enhance research execution and participant experiences
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support consumer research objectives and project timelines
• Maintain high standards for safety, compliance, and laboratory operations
• Analyze operational metrics and identify opportunities for increased efficiency
• Support innovation initiatives and help implement new tools, technologies, and best practices
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment
• Ensure lab resources, schedules, and staffing are effectively managed to meet business needs

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience leading teams in a laboratory, consumer research, sensory science, or related operational environment
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing staff
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to drive operational excellence and process improvements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting sensory testing, consumer research, or market research programs
• Knowledge of research operations, data quality standards, and testing methodologies
• Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
• Familiarity with laboratory operations and participant management processes
