Job Title: Receiving Office Associate

Location: Sumner, WA 

Pay Range: $26.00 

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM 

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a Receiving Office Associate to join the team in Sumner, Washington. This position plays a critical role in supporting receiving operations through administrative and warehouse-related tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, inbound freight processing, documentation management, and communication with internal and external partners.

The ideal candidate has receiving experience in a distribution center environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and promote a safe work environment and immediately address safety concerns.
  • Perform daily reconciliations and maintain accurate receiving records.
  • Complete data entry and ensure information is entered accurately and timely.
  • Utilize AS400, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and other company software to support receiving and inbound freight operations.
  • Process and document packing slips, bills of lading (BOLs), and purchase orders (POs), including reporting damaged, short, or lost shipments.
  • Ensure assigned work is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and route messages as needed.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently when required.
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy standards within assigned warehouse zones.
  • Report any damage to equipment, hardware, or warehouse assets to management immediately.
  • Utilize computer systems and hardware necessary to perform job duties.
  • Perform Receiver III responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of receiving experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to become certified on warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work overtime when business needs require.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for receiving operations.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and operate material handling equipment, including:
    • Forklifts
    • Stand-up Reach Trucks
    • High-Reach Narrow Aisle Equipment
    • Order Pickers
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work within established procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and company manuals.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Sit for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently walk throughout the warehouse environment.
  • Constant use of hands for handling, operating equipment, and keyboarding.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance.
  • Constant ability to communicate and receive information.

Weight Requirements

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular handling of materials weighing up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Distribution center environment with frequent exposure to:
    • High noise levels
    • Heat and cold temperatures
    • Powered industrial equipment and warehouse machinery

Additional Requirements

  • Steel-toed boots required.
  • Ability to operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment.
  • Equipment used may include:
    • Narrow-Aisle High Reach
    • Order Picker
