Our client, a leader in industrial and laboratory environments, is seeking a Facilities Technician 5 to join their team. As a Facilities Technician 5, you will be part of the maintenance and operations department supporting critical building systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Mattawan, MI
Pay Range: $43.27 Hourly
What's the Job?
- Oversee and monitor the operation of critical building systems including refrigeration, boilers, chillers, and related mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repair service work on site utility systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and motors.
- Conduct routine tests and inspections on support equipment including water testing, chemical inventories, and brine levels.
- Assist with major repairs and maintenance of building systems, ensuring optimal operation and safety compliance.
- Document all work performed using Computerized Maintenance Management System and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
What's Needed?
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience working with industrial-sized HVAC equipment and systems.
- Experience with steam boilers up to 37.5 million BTUs, water boilers up to 6 million BTUs, and chillers up to 1000 tons.
- EPA Universal certification is required.
- Ability to work independently on a rotating schedule, including weekends and on-call shifts.
- Basic computer skills and understanding of mechanical systems, including pump rebuilding.
