Industrial HVAC Technician

Our client, a facilities and building operations team is seeking an Industrial HVAC Technician to join their team. As an Industrial HVAC Technician, you will be part of the Facilities Maintenance team supporting day-to-day operations for managed properties. The ideal candidate will have hands-on HVAC troubleshooting strength, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to handle a variety of maintenance work orders while staying organized and responsive.

Job Title: Industrial HVAC Technician
Location: Saint Joseph, MO
Pay Range: $34-$37/hr

What's the Job?

• Diagnose, service, and repair refrigerant-based HVAC equipment including chillers, DX units, heat pumps, and rooftop units (RTUs)
• Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, leak detection, brazing, and compressor repairs in compliance with EPA and safety standards
• Troubleshoot HVAC electrical components, low-voltage controls, sensors, and building automation systems
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance inspections, document findings and repairs, and track refrigerant usage
• Support startups, commissioning activities, and functional testing for new or upgraded equipment

What's Needed?

• EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal)
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience servicing refrigerant-based HVAC systems, including troubleshooting compressors and refrigerant circuits
• Working knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, low-voltage controls, safety procedures, and the ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS) such as Johnson Controls, Trane, Siemens, Honeywell, or Schneider
• Comfort using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and strong documentation skills
