Position Summary
We are seeking an operational change agent to serve as the Engineering & Maintenance Manager at our facility in Cincinnati. This newly elevated leadership seat carries an immense strategic mandate: to drive an aggressive cultural and operational shift from a historically reactive maintenance state into a high-performing, predictive, and preventative World-Class Manufacturing (WCM) ecosystem.
Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, this individual will own the technical and organizational vision for two interconnected processing facilities. You will build, mentor, and lead a small, high-performing corporate engineering team (comprising a Reliability Engineer, Senior Controls Engineer, Senior Process Engineer, and Project Engineers) while serving as a collaborative matrix partner to on-site Plant Managers to eliminate equipment downtime, optimize asset reliability, and drive strict floor accountability.

Key Operational Priorities & Short-Term Wins
- Downtime Elimination: Conduct an immediate baseline maintenance and reliability assessment across both facilities to target, diagnose, and aggressively reduce equipment downtime.
- Asset Criticality & PM Modernization: Build a comprehensive critical analysis roadmap of existing machinery. Systematically transform current PM protocols from qualitative/subjective workflows into rigorous, quantitative, and data-driven schedules.
- WCM & TPM Deployment: Anchor the plant floor to the core pillars of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and World-Class Manufacturing. Drive early-stage adoption through One-Point Lessons (OPLs) and rapid Kaizen improvement projects.
- Autonomous Maintenance Training: Empower frontline operators by instilling a culture of "equipment care" and autonomous maintenance, effectively upskilling the operations team to handle minor upkeep and freeing up skilled technicians for critical, high-priority reliability engineering tasks.
- CMMS Optimization: Partner with supervisors and analysts to revamp and maximize the current Microsoft-backed CMMS platform (M-Pulse) to establish precise tracking metrics for scheduling excellence and work order completion.
- Capital Expenditure Oversight: Manage a rolling regional CapEx portfolio valued between $5M to $10M, supporting dedicated Project Engineers from scope and business case design through installation and final commissioning.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Technology Management, Operations, or a related technical discipline. Or relative real world experience
- Experience: 7 to 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience spanning engineering, maintenance management, and plant reliability leadership.
- Processing Infrastructure: Direct experience managing assets in a 24/7 continuous processing, liquid blending, chemical, oleochemical, batch compounding, or regulated consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing environment.
- Operational Excellence: Deep, practical implementation knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM execution, and World-Class Manufacturing stages. Must possess a proven track record of shifting cultures away from reactive firefights.
- Systems Fluency: Robust working knowledge of asset lifecycle tracking, scheduling metrics, and hands-on utilization of a CMMS system (experience with M-Pulse or similar enterprise asset management software is a major plus).
- Matrix Leadership Skills: Exceptional capability to operate in a collaborative environment where decision-making balances personal autonomy with consensus-building across cross-functional partners (HR, Finance, Safety, and local Plant Managers).
