Our client a leading commercial real estate and facilities management company, is seeking a Building Operating Engineer to join their team. As a Building Operating Engineer, you will be part of the Facilities Operations team supporting the maintenance and operation of a commercial facility. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance, which will align successfully in the organization.

 

Job Title: Building Operating Engineer

Location: Nashville, TN

Pay Range: $28-$31/hr

 

What’s the Job?

  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on commercial building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire life safety equipment.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
  • Respond to service requests, troubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs while minimizing disruption to building occupants.
  • Maintain accurate work orders and building system information using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Assist with equipment installations and replacements and coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed.

 

What’s Needed?

  • High school diploma or GED and EPA Universal certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial building maintenance experience, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms, computerized building systems and/or Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Commercial kitchen equipment experience, including ovens, walk-in freezers, coolers and hoods, is a strong plus.
