Job Title: Maintenance Automation Technician
Location: Chaska, MN
Pay: $32-$38/hour plus $1.25/hour Shift Differential
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:00 PM OR Wed-Sat or Sat-Wed 4PM -2:00am
A leading advanced manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Automation Technician to support highly automated production equipment and facility systems. This role focuses on equipment reliability, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, automation systems, robotics, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who enjoys diagnosing complex problems and working with advanced manufacturing technologies, robotics, PLCs, and automated equipment.
What is the Job:
- Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment and facility systems.
- Serve as a primary resource for controls, automation, robotics, and electrical maintenance issues.
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Support PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, stepper drives, sensors, and vision systems.
- Troubleshoot and maintain industrial robots and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose network communication issues between production equipment and connected systems.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, servo, and mechanical systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on robotics and automated equipment.
- Adjust robot program points and assist with troubleshooting automation-related issues.
- Support custom-built manufacturing equipment and production systems.
- Complete work orders, maintenance documentation, and CMMS updates accurately and timely.
- Participate in safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What is Needed:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree in Automation, Robotics, Electrical Technology, Controls, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting automation and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, sensors, servo motors, and industrial controls.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to work independently and support production equipment reliability.
Preferred Experience:
- Fanuc, Sepro, or Star Robotics
- Allen Bradley or Siemens PLCs
- Servo and stepper drive systems
- Vision systems
- Industrial networking and communications
- Injection molding equipment
- Automated manufacturing equipment
- Controls and automation troubleshooting
