Destruction Technician

Our client, an operations and production environment, is seeking a Destruction Technician to join their team. As a Destruction Technician, you will be part of the Shred Plant team supporting day-to-day processing and destruction of customer material. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and security, the ability to follow detailed procedures, and the drive to maintain consistent quality in a fast-paced production setting.

Job Title: Destruction Technician

Location: Bloomington, MN

Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

Position Type: 3-Month Contract-to-Hire

Shift: Monday - Friday; 7:45AM - 4:15PM

What's the Job?

• Secure shredding by emptying collected material from containers, cutting bags, dumping gaylords, and manually dumping boxes from pallets.
• Sort material by grade, separate and discard identified contaminants, and perform authorized equipment repairs to keep production operationally safe.
• Maintain chain of custody with strict control over incoming and outgoing customer material, including immediate notification when equipment is not operational or when safety and security concerns arise.
• Follow 5S Workplace Program standards to support consistent tasks, workplace layouts, and workflow compliance.
• Support daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance tasks as directed by the Plant Manager or Supervisor; assist with training new staff as needed.

What's Needed?

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience in an Operations / Production / Manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with supervisors, colleagues, and internal/external partners.
• Comfort working both independently and as part of a team while maintaining professional, constructive working relationships.
• Ability to learn and understand compliance with OSHA requirements and safety and security procedures, including wearing required uniform and PPEs.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and push heavy material (70lbs to 100lbs) and/or push wheeled containers up to 300lbs; ability to operate PIT and other equipment as licensed.
