Our client, in Clare, MI is seeking a Welder to join their team. As a Welder, you will be part of the production team supporting fabrication and welding operations. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint reading skills, a commitment to quality, and the ability to follow customer-supplied specifications which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Welder

Location: Clare, MI

Pay Range: $21

Assignment duration - Immediate start to Mid-December (expected)

Shift: 4 pm - 2 am

What's the Job?

  • Utilize blueprints to fit and weld metal components to customer supplied specifications.
  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding to meet build requirements.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together; bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for welding.
  • Set up and adjust GMAW and FCAW equipment to perform quality welds, including MIG and TIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Use plasma and/or oxy fuel cutting torches, CAC gouging machine for grooves and CJP welds, and perform quality audits when the Quality Auditor is unavailable.

What's Needed?

  • 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding symbols; willingness to teach blueprint and welding symbol interpretation to Welder 2 and Welder 3.
  • Proficiency using fabrication measurement tools (squares, tape measures, levels, magnets) and weld gauges to check weld size.
  • Experience performing quality audits, using QC packets to determine build quantity, and supporting the quality system and procedures.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, hoists, and cranes, and to use hand power tools such as grinders, belt sanders, and die grinders.
