Industrial Sewing Machine Operator

Our client, in Farwell, MI is seeking a Industrial Sewing Machine Operator to join their team. As a Industrial Sewing Machine Operator, you will be part of the sewing department supporting production operations. The ideal candidate will have machine setup expertise, a strong commitment to quality, and the ability to follow work orders accurately which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Industrial Sewing Machine Operator

Location: Farwell, MI

Pay Range: $16.50

Shift: 8 am - 4p m
*overtime is scheduled prior to start time and can include Saturdays

What's the Job?

• Lead and produce custom set-ups and custom orders in the sewing department using available equipment.
• Operate the Gerber cutter to complete work orders efficiently and produce a quality finished product.
• Layout and set up patterns for athletics and staging cut-outs with the least amount of waste.
• Operate silk screening by selecting the best screen process and style to assure top-quality parts.
• Operate sewing machines to join or reinforce materials, detect and correct defective stitching, and perform safe equipment operation (including grommet machine, hydraulic press, and hot knife).

What's Needed?

• High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
• Ability to be versatile in operating different sewing machines and performing machine setup.
• Basic math skills for measuring, layout, and production tasks.
• Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and handle the variety of situations that occur during daily sewing processing.
• Agility and physical capability to lift 50 pounds regularly and manage hands-on production work.
