Machinist

Our client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a dedicated Machinist to join their team. As a Machinist, you will be part of the Manufacturing Department supporting production operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical skills, previous machinist skills ,and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Machinist

Location: Altavista, VA

Pay Range:$18.25

Shift: 2nd or 3rd shift 3p.m. to 11p.m. or 11p.m. to 7 a.m. 

What's the Job?

• Actively participate in continuous improvement through team problem solving.
• Participate in activities necessary to delight internal and external customers.
• Adjust machine tools as needed to ensure proper quality.
• Apply SPC to maintain and improve process capability.
• Perform machine maintenance and service equipment, except in instances of major breakdowns.

What's Needed?

• High mechanical ability to operate machines and use various precision measuring instruments and gauges.
• Ability to handle stand for up to 12 hours and lift 35 lbs, maneuvering heavier weights with assistance.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in machining or related fields.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
