Mill Machinist
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour + $2.00/hour Shift Differential
Second Shift – Mon-Fri 3pm-11pm but will train on first shift
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mill Machinist to join our team as a Bridge Mill Trainee. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who is comfortable working with large-scale parts, complex setups, and heavy manufacturing equipment. While prior bridge mill experience is not required, candidates should have experience with large workpieces, custom setups, or structural/frame fabrication environments.
This position requires extensive hands-on setup work and offers the opportunity to train on a large bridge mill under the guidance of experienced team members. Due to the complexity of the equipment and processes, training will take place on first shift or mid-shift before transitioning to a permanent second-shift schedule.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform machining preparation work, including drilling, tapping, and milling operations prior to machine setup.
  • Assist with the setup and operation of a large bridge mill used to machine oversized components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and setup documentation.
  • Secure, align, and verify large and often complex workpieces for machining.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality, accuracy, and safe operation.
  • Recognize potential machining issues and intervene when necessary to prevent equipment damage or program errors.
  • Conduct quality checks using measuring tools and inspection equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
Qualifications
  • Previous machining experience required.
  • Experience working with large parts, structural fabrication, framework, heavy equipment, or complex setups strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining specifications.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machining processes.
  • Familiarity with G-Code and M-Code is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to recognize when a machine program is running incorrectly or when a potential crash condition exists.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
