Sanitation Worker

Our client, Manufacturing is seeking a Sanitation Worker to join their team.  As a Sanitation Worker, you will be part of the Sanitation department supporting production and packaging operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to food safety, the ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures, and a sense of urgency to complete sanitation tasks on time—helping ensure a safe, high-quality environment every shift.

Job Title: Sanitation Worker

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY

Pay Range: $20.65/hr

Shift: Overnights (Monday–Friday 9:00pm–5:00am)
 

What's the Job?

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of production and packaging equipment while following SSOP, HACCP, FDA, GMPs, Safety policies, procedures, and all established requirements.
• Complete assigned sanitation tasks in a timely manner and in accordance with quality standards and government regulations.
• Remove all trash and debris from production processing, packaging, and dock areas; clean up spills of product or other foreign matter.
• Operate sanitation and cleaning equipment including a power scrubber, foamer, forklift, and other cleaning tools as required.
• Follow the Master Sanitation daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedules; clean facility areas including walls, floors, racking, doors, and also building grounds, lighting, and parking lots.

What's Needed?

• Ability to follow Good Hygiene, Safe Work Practices, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to support safe, quality production.
• Willingness to report any potential contamination and suspicious activity immediately to a Supervisor or Manager.
• Comfort completing sanitation documentation accurately, including any corrective actions taken.
• Ability to clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, break rooms, conference rooms, and locker rooms when cleaning company coverage is not present.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe chemical storage area and perform other duties as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor.
