What You'll Do
- Perform specimen processing and pre-analytical procedures accurately and efficiently
- Support test send-out activities, specimen preparation, and accessioning processes
- Demonstrate proficiency with test ordering policies, specimen requirements, and compliance standards
- Utilize hospital laboratory information systems (LIS) and client-specific systems
- Print laboratory testing reports and interpret specimen tracking and workflow reports
- Perform supply inventory monitoring and ordering activities
- Troubleshoot specimen issues, missing information, test requests, and client inquiries
- Serve as a liaison between hospital staff and laboratory teams to support effective communication and problem resolution
- Manage inbound calls and provide exceptional customer service
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to quality, safety, and compliance procedures
What We're Looking For
- A current, up-to-date resume
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-3 years of related work experience required
- Medical background and knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Previous hospital laboratory experience preferred
- Strong data entry skills with the ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour
- Experience working with laboratory information systems (LIS) preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication, collaboration, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and work safely in a biohazard environment
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required hospital credentialing for site access
- Ability to meet compliance requirements
- Must be eligible and provide proof of eligibility to work in the US
