Forklift Operator / Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Manpower is hiring Forklift Operators / Material Handlers for a leading manufacturing company in the Grand Rapids area. This position is responsible for safely moving materials throughout the facility, loading outbound shipments, staging inventory for production, and supporting warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts (hi-lo) to transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse and production areas
• Complete pre-shift forklift inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
• Load and unload semi-trailers and box trucks accurately and efficiently
• Verify shipping labels, product information, and quantities prior to loading shipments
• Perform visual inspections of materials to ensure quality standards are met
• Stage inventory and raw materials to support daily production schedules
• Assist with packaging, material preparation, and warehouse organization
• Use utility knives and other basic tools to prepare and unpack materials
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Previous forklift, material handling, warehouse, or shipping experience preferred
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to follow work instructions and shipping documentation
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently when needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the shift
• Frequent lifting of 50+ pounds, including team lifting when required
• Ability to work around moving equipment, machinery, dust, and noise
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment
