Job Description

Manpower of Shelby Township is recruiting for a CNC Programmer. The Machinist sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. The Machinist needs knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. The programmer will select the necessary tools that are used in cutting, and also in establishing the sequence of operations. Create specific machine codes in order to drive the cutting tool's cutter path. The programmer must also utilize the graphics and the language-¬‐based systems. They will regenerate the Engineering geometry manually and transcribe the information from the third party software.



* 2nd shift - Monday through Friday 3pm to 11pm and Saturday hours

* Pay based on experience - $18 to $20 per hour



Qualifications:

* Must be knowledgeable with Mazak Machines - MAZATROL CONTROLS

* Reads blue prints

* Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers

* Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines

* Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process

* Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders

* Sets up, adjusts, and operates all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations

* Generating actual parts of the programs for the CNC turning and also machining center and utilizing the exact equipment in computer programming

* Responsible in specifying correct machining data, current manufacturing and processing, tool geometry and work holding on specifications

* Measures, examines, and test completed units to detects defects and ensures conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers

* Responsible in reporting production problems that is caused by the wrong manufacturing process, programming procedures to immediate supervisor, and tooling

* Checking other CNC programs as needed for programming accuracy and utilizing standard procedures prior to a new or revised program that is being released to the shop floor



Requirements:

* Must have reliable transportation to and from Macomb, MI

* High School Diploma or GED

* Minimum of 3 years' experience

* Shop math and use of precision measurement tools

* Some heavy lifting required

* Experience with machining steel, cast iron, bronze metals
