Job Description

2nd SHIFT; Mon-Fri; 3pm to 11pm (30 min paid break)
Title of Position: Production Worker - Pultrusion Cut Off Operator

-Rough cut pultruded parts coming off of the Pultrusion machines through the use of a measuring stick and hand held circular saw.
-Inspect pultruded parts for visual defects such as: porosity, bake marks, lost edges, missing mat, cracking, grooves, straightness (bowing), blisters, & others not mentioned.
-Perform any Quality checks as requested on the production order. Report defects to the machine operator of that product so corrections can be made.
-Notify the shift leader if corrections are not made in a timely manner or if the defect continues to persist after corrections are made.
-Finish cut pultruded parts to specified lengths as noted on the production order by using a stationary chop saw.
-Verify cut length accuracy at the start of each new length ran through the use of a tape measure and periodically check the product during the production run.
-Perform any Secondary operations that are requested on the production orders such as: drilling, stamping, grinding, or wiping of parts.
-Place finished cut parts either on carts or on pallets as requested on the production order.
-Package finish parts as requested on the production orders through the use of carts, pallets, 1x4 boards, nails, shrink wrap, tape, cardboard, and steel banding.
-Keep accurate counts of the quantity and lengths of good parts being produced and record it on the production orders.
-Record scrap weights of defective product on the back of the production orders. (See Production Order Recording Procedures for detailed information to be recorded on the production orders.)
-Mark carts of product with quantities and lengths.
-Ability to learn and/or operate a forklift and be forklift certified
-Follow Back Dock Procedures as required
-Assist in relieving other personnel in the area for scheduled breaks.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Experience in using and reading measurements from a tape measurer and calipers.
Ability to read and understand production order requirements
Previous experience using powered hand tools and numeric keypad
Frequent walking, stepping, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as earplugs and safety glasses.
Must be able to comply with the rules and policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
-Must be able to work overtime as required.
-Chemicals onsite - aware training to be completed, but no interaction with chemicals in this role.
-Should wear jeans/steel-toed shoes required
