Job Description

Project Manager - permanent job opportunity with a leading National Commercial Construction contracting company. Offering competitive compensation package including benefits and growth potential!

Position Overview of the PM:

* Define scope of project

* Estimate and forecast assigned projects

* Create detailed work plan

* Maintain project timelines

* Ensure required documentation is in place with Client and Sub-Contractors

* Determine project schedule with assigned Site Supervisor

* Conduct project meetings as required

* Ensure continuous communication with Site Supervisor and Client providing necessary information as required

* Ensure project budgets are maintained (monitor and approve extra expenditures)


➢ Create tenders and estimate projects w/ support of Directors

➢ Evaluate trade pricing, labour, material take offs and complete bid review w/support of Directors

➢ Successfully negotiate with Clients, trades and manage pre-project detail to maximize potential profits

➢ Conduct site prepossession, progression and close out meetings (analyze feedback for better future projects)

➢ Conduct weekly visits for Client progress updates

➢ Create schedules based on trade feedback and site supervisors' communication

➢ Manage and maintain timelines/handovers for projects

➢ Complete all start up documentation with support of Project Coordinators

➢ Support Project Coordinators in training and growth

➢ Assist front office with quoting

➢ Manage job costing of projects with Directors and Accounting

➢ Issue PO's, schedule revisions, schedule deliveries and orders with assistance of Project Coordinators

➢ Analyze, evaluate and notify team of schedule changes or changes to SOW to Directors

➢ Successfully manage time in office and in the field to maximize project efficiency

➢ Read plans (IFTs, IFCs and IFPs)

➢ Design, produce and create scopes of work when required

➢ Create budgets, proposals and Client comparisons when required

➢ Manage past clients for all future opportunities, deficiency support and warranty items

➢ Make fast, effective decisions under strict timelines

Qualified Candidates will have:

2+ years similar experience as a Project Manager in the Commercial Construction sector

Project Management Certification an asset

Estimating experience

Must be able to interpret drawings and manipulate schedules

Applied knowledge of project cost/cost control

Must have Class G license

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
