Job Description

In tandem with our client, a leader in the petrochemical industry, Manpower is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, to fulfill an ongoing contract position at our client's site located 25 km east of Red Deer.



The work week schedule is Monday to Friday. Preference will be given to candidates whom residing in the Central Alberta area.



The job accountabilities or duties will be:

* Must be familiar with ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel design or fabrication. Must be familiar with ASME B31.3 Pressure Piping Code.

* Plant experience is a requirement

* Unit Support to Unit Mechanical Engineer to complete identified 2019 turnaround and unit priorities.

* Leveraging mechanical & technical expertise in day to day problem solving, troubleshooting, and project scoping.

* Project management of inter-discipline projects in an operational chemical plant.

* Experience using and referencing pre-engineered line classes and corporate engineering standards in design work.

* Majority of time in the role will be spent preparing for the execution of the T/A.

* Candidate must be available to support TA execution (approx. 5 to 6 weeks of 6 x 10 hrs in September/October 2019)

* Provide project design and management for Mechanical projects as assigned.

* Experience working within a corporate management of change (MOC) system considered an asset.

* Follow PD&I and FCM practices in the preparation and execution of expense projects.



Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

* B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of maintenance and/or reliability engineering experience in an industrial plant or equivalent technical environment.

* APEGA certification is required, currently registered as a Professional Engineer
