Major Hospital Network in Fairfield County, CT has an ongoing need for Patient Advocates. These are temp-to-perm jobs paying $18 per hour to start. Patient Advocates perform non-clinical work associated with hospital/doctor office patients. They provide clerical and administrative support and coordinate the patient care activities. Shift hours are typically an 8 hour day between 8am and 8pm (some flexibility required). Jobs can be in a hospital, doctor's office, or supporting facility and can involve in-person work with patients or call center activities. Prior experience in a medical setting is generally preferred (6 months). Minimum formal education of High School Diploma.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Ensure accuracy of patient's information, including demographics and insurance

2. Perform reception of customers and communicate pleasantly and effectively

3. Answer phones, route calls, take messages, convey information, and assure accurate communication

4. Register, verify, and schedule patient appointments, testing, and referrals

5. Reschedule cancelled, no show, and tickler appointments

6. Process record requests, including the copying, billing, charging, and recording

7. Collect co-pays and reconciles moneys for deposit

8. Obtain and coordinate record retrieval for new and established patients

9. Complete audits as assigned

10. Perform intake and processing of medical records and other documentation and correspondence vie eFax

11. Present a professional appearance and image

12. Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position

13. Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

MS Outlook, Data Entry, Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal). Skills in Practice Management System, Medical Office, and MS Excel are pluses!
