Job Description

Manpower has an opening for a Utilities and Facilities Manager in Aiken, SC. The usual working hours of this job are Monday-Friday 8AM to 5PM. Salary will be based off of experience. Job duties would include but not be limited to:
• Provide the facilities and environment for the Aiken manufacturing facility to produce world-class pharmaceutical and consumer health care products
• Lead a team of engineers and mechanics who provide day to day operational support and small project delivery to the facilities and utilities
• Technical ownership of all the utilities generation equipment (boilers, chillers, purified water system), including areas that have been outsourced to a third party
• Management, oversight and governance of all third-party contractors (up to 150) including the EFM (Enterprise Facilities Management) Program.
• Management of Steam system (Boilers and Condensate), Purified Water, HVAC, Chilled water, domestic services, electrical infrastructure, and building fabric.
• Ensure all activities are completed safely and compliance with site requirements – including work completed by subcontractors. Actively participate on program for improvements to drive towards the achievement of Zero Accidents.
• Proactively manage the facilities engineering cost center to achieve target budget
• Leadership and development of a team of multidisciplinary mechanics and engineers including management in line with the Company people management processes
• Maintenance of all equipment within work area incompliance with applicable and relevant standards, including but not limited to, Code of Federal Regulations, Quality Management System, Global Engineering Standards and Local Codes.
• Ensure all work performed by team is completed in accordance with cGMP guidelines and good documentation practice
• Identify and understand customer requirements to ensure essential maintenance activity can be completed without impacting the manufacturing operation
• Preventative maintenance of equipment and processes in area of responsibility to be completed to ensure equipment failures and interruptions do not impact the manufacturing operations

Possess knowledge, skills and work experience in an FDA regulated manufacturing facility and have a working knowledge of utilities generation equipment, facility systems, electrical infrastructure, building management and leadership. For this role, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and 10 years of experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment is required. This management role also requires broad business skills as well as leadership experience with direct reports and management of contractors. This role requires collaborative working in a diverse team environment, technical writing skills and the ability to deliver information to multidisciplinary groups.

Educational Requirements:
• BS Degree in Engineering

Experience Requirements:
• 10 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical device or similarly aligned manufacturing environment
• 5 years of experience leading teams
• Experience managing contractors and supplier contracts
• Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines and standard operating procedures related to facilities and utilities management.
