Job Description

Job Summary:

The Packaging Specialist is responsible for Maintaining consistent flow of product while working the Graveyard shift. Able to sort quality defects and ensure consistent stack sizes to wrappers. Be able to man machines and focus on surrounding machines that feed the line.



Essential Functions:

*Count product being stacked in layers in boxes.

*Stack products on conveyor line while monitoring the product flow and quality.

*Remove product from conveyor line and stack in assembled box as needed.

*Monitor Pouch count from conveyor to case packer.

*Must be able to perform minor fixing on machine

*Monitor the conveyor line from the freezer down the slide while performing quality checks on products.

*Monitors Metal Detector for the metal detection Step (includes observations or measurements) to assess whether the critical control point (CCP)

*Operation Cartoner as needed

*Must be able to rotate to all positions of Production Specialist.

*Must understand and practice safe work practices, food safety (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards at all times.

*Maintain timely and regular attendance.

*Must be able to work overtime as required.

*Responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

*Other production specific duties as needed.

*Follow required Standards and Procedures for operation



Qualifications

*Basic understanding process flow in a manufacturing environment

*Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize one's own time and the time of others consistent with the needs of the business

*Worked in a Warehouse environment a plus

*Able to work independently and as part of a team

*Prior experience/training in Lean Manufacturing principles

*Able to read, write and comprehend English

*Basic knowledge of computer skills

*Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.

*Able to communicate at all levels of the organization as needed (oral and written)

*Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible with changing priorities

*Flexible in working hours, able to work overtime on either before or after the shift as needed and on weekends.

o Grave shift: 9:30p - 6:00a

**Hours are with business needs. You will be responsible for checking your schedule for your shift each week. Hours are reviewed and evaluated on a weekly basis.



Education and Experience Required:

*High School Diploma or GED Required

*Minimum 1 year experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment



Physical Demands:

*Standing for long periods at a time.

*Safely Pushing/pulling boxes, bins, totes, pallet jacks as needed.

*Regularly twist and reach to move pro

*The work environment is a production facility with moderate noise levels.

*Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed

*Employee occasionally is required to lift up to 30 lbs.

*Personal protective equipment that must be worn on the manufacturing floor include: Hard hat, hair net, ear plugs, safety glasses, smock, steel toed shoes
