Job Description

Responsible for providing material and manufacturing recommendations, performing engineering work related to planning, devising, adapting methods to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing production. Develops, documents, and maintains manufacturing process and procedures. Performing research and testing on new and current production equipment and processes. Requires hands-on product and process troubleshooting to develop and recommend process improvements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop product manufacturing specifications and quality standards based on new product requirements.
• Implement and train workers on new specifications and standards.
• Perform first article inspections and troubleshooting related manufacturing problems, documenting and maintaining product and manufacturing documentation.
• Investigate and recommend new manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Manage both large and small manufacturing projects.
• Determine operations required to produce products and develop processes to ensure quality, cost, and efficiency requirements are met.
• Troubleshoot problems with production and takes corrective action.
• Research the purchase of equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.




Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Composite, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering. (Intern or Co-Op experience is recommended)
• Intern or Co-Op work experience in the Engineering or Manufacturing field is preferred.
• Working knowledge of common composite manufacturing techniques.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical industrial equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and recording keeping.
• Hands-on process and product experience.
• Work independently as well as part of a team.
• Project management experience a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands requiring finger dexterity, and handling or working with equipment. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing 10-25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Employee will be required to hear telephone.
